SiVeAS PROJECT
ASSESSING PERFORMANCE BY THE ITALIAN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

In the context of the Siveas Project and in collaboration with Agenas (National Agency for Regional Healthcare Services), MeS Lab developed a performance evaluation system in order to assess performance by regional healthcare services. In 2009 MeS Lab proposed a first set of indicators and a methodology to represent performance results.
The performance evaluation system proposed by MeS Lab consists of 34 indicators which aim to assess appropriateness, efficiency and quality of healthcare services.
After being revised by regions, the performance evaluation system was presented to the Italian Minister of Health Ferruccio Fazio.  Data related to this project are available on the Italian Ministry of Health’s website at the following address: http://www.salute.gov.it/siveas/siveas.jsp.
